In society today we have many devices that produce light. But what if we can experiment with a light source on materials to understand their physical function as well as why they're apart of products that involve light. 

Zehra had got inspired by the simplicity of the tea light holder. Since it's purpose is to softly illuminate light and create a sense of calmness, I wanted to explore different material options that will execute this. When it came to my final design, texture was a very important aspect for me. Essentially, texture gives the visual quality of a surface and allows a person to understand the physical structure given to a material.

The material that I decided to use is copper. I hammered it down to create texture when the candle is lit. My design consists of 4 leaves that fold up towards the middle to create a flower. What's interesting about this design is that users can move the leaves around in any direction they please.
